Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Nursing Services, the Charge Nurse will ensure the highest degree of quality care and compliance with established policies/procedures by providing direct nursing care to residents, as well as supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by Nursing Assistants. This position involves meeting with assigned staff and support personnel, determining shift staffing requirements, and planning shift services, programs, activities, and . Participating in employee performance evaluations, as well as the development, planning and conducting of in-service training classes. Responsibilities also include assisting in the development and implementation of the nursing service department's quality assurance program and ensuring department has an adequate supply of medications, supplies, and equipment to meet the nursing needs of our residents.

Requirements include Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation from an approved LPN/LVN or RN program, as well as an active state license. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of our residents, including the ability to plan, develop and implement applicable programs, goals, policies, procedures, etc. Current working knowledge of nursing and medical practices, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities, is essential. Must be a strong team player with proven leadership and supervisory skills. Excellent verbal/written English communication skills are required.
