The PRN Memory Care Resident Assistant provides resident care and activity needs under the supervision of the Memory Care Program and assists in maintaining a positive physical, nutritional and social environment for the residents, while ensuring they feel safe and purposeful. Requirements • Licensed CNA, Home Health Aid, Personal Care Home Maker, or completed 54 hours of training (as required by state regulations) • Ability to read, write and speak English • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials, State officials, and general public • Obtain Food Handlers Permit (as required by state regulations) • Must have compassion for and desire to work with seniors and with seniors who have Alzheimer's disease or dementia • Must meet all State health requirements • Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation • Must pass criminal background check Functions • Initiate and lead small group activities with residents living in the memory care neighborhood • Follow activity calendar as directed by the Memory Care Director • Conduct the activity program while delivering care and facilitating events Personal care and nursing • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, positioning, transfer, mobility, and incontinence care while using appropriate modeling and validation techniques • Utilize validation techniques when communicating with residents and assisting with activities of daily living • Document appropriately as outlined in the Wellness and Memory Care Program policy and procedures • Observe any changes in resident's condition; take action to ensure safety of the resident and report to your supervisor • Vital sign monitoring will be performed as needed by personnel with current license/qualification (as required by state regulations). • Follow the Memory Care dining and hydration standards as outlined in the program standards and training
