The Memory Care Director will manage the overall operation of the Memory Care Neighborhood in accordance with resident needs, government regulations and Emeritus policies and procedures. Duties include conducting resident screenings and family interviews; development and implementation of residents' FlexCare Plans; planning, conducting and implementing staff training and coordinating educational opportunities; coordinating the annual review of the Alzheimer's Program policy and procedures; coordinating in-service training; assisting in marketing and sales efforts; organizing and leading Resident Aide meetings; and providing written reports.

 Position requirements include:

• This is a full-time position with some weekends. Must be available by phone or pager 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some travel required.

• Qualified candidates will preferably possess a BA/BS degree in medical, psychological, social or gerontological or 2-3 years experience in a healthcare setting.

• A basic knowledge of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementia is required.

• Creativity and quality teamwork skills are a must.

• Computer proficiency.

• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.

• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

• Must meet all health requirements, including TB, and pass background checks.
